Who Influenced Peter Tchaikovsky????
Many composers have heavily influenced Tchaikovsky, but the influence that stands out the most in his compositions are from Anton Rubinstein. He also adored the works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, detested Brahms, and bored by Wagner.
Anton Rubinstein
Anton Rubinstein was a Russian composer, pianist, and conductor. He became a pivotal figure in Russia after he found the Saint Petersburg Conservatory, and his brother found the Moscow Conservatory. Peter met Rubinstein at Saint Petersburg Conservatory and was heavily influenced by his compositions.
Anton Rubinstein's works that incorporated nationalistic elements inspired Tchaikovsky to use the same elements in his music compositions. In the Symphony No.2, for example, combines Russian folk song and classical forms of music.
